How sync specific folder in Microsoft OneDrive ?
How to sync save game data directly in one drive ?
For example - I'm playing GTA IV game and the Save Game location is
"C:\Users\lokes\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games
Answer:
We can't directly select and browse that specific folder from the OneDrive app because it's located in a system directory.
However, there's a workaround we can try using symbolic links. This way, we can trick OneDrive into syncing the folder.
Steps:
1 - Create a New Folder:
First, create a new folder in OneDrive where we want to sync the above folder or any specific folder from the PC
I'm Creating a folder called "SaveGames" in my OneDrive
C:\Users\lokesh\OneDrive\SaveGames
2 - Open Command Prompt as Administrator:
Press Win + S to open the search bar.
Type cmd or Command Prompt.
Right-click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator".
3 - Create a Symbolic Link:
In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
mklink /D "C:\Users\lokes\OneDrive\SaveGames\Rockstar Games" "C:\Users\lokes\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games"
This command creates a symbolic link in your OneDrive folder that points to the original folder & OneDrive will sync the link as if it were the actual folder.
Syncing..
