Why we need or why we require this ?

Gmail is secure and we cant send email directly using the any app or mail client. we noticed 

during the configuration of postfix or sendmail as gmail realy so we require this steps and get the generated password.   

Follow the below steps to get the app password

Visit https://www.google.com/settings/security using your Gmail id which you are planning to use for SMTP relay.

1. Go to your Google Account.
2. Select Security.
3. Under "Signing in to Google,

Here 2-Step Verification is disable so we will enable it, just click on "2-Step Verification" and follow all step like provide your Phone Number and Enter confirmation code 

After the complete verification steps, looks like 

 

Once verified we will get the new "App password" option in above screenshot, Select App passwords and enable. we can define any device here below.

Click on App Passwords, it will ask your password to authenticate 

Select app as "Mail" and device as "Other" and define custom name like LinuxTopic

Type Device name, as you wish and click on GENERATE button 

Once Click on Generate, it will generate 16 character code like below

Before Click on DONE, Copy password and keep in safe place.

In the above screenshot, we added device successfully now we will  use this code for authentication.

Note: The above code we can use in Postfix / Sendmail Configuration as Gmail relay ..
